The Desert Road

Mount Ruapehu ... the volcano exploded and ashes went everywhere and made this "desert."

staring into Lake Taupo. Taupo is a volcano that erupted and the sand is made out of ashes.[G] The romans could see the ash when Taupo exploded. [C] And I'm holding pumice... the only "floatable" rock in the world.

This is a very big piece of pumice.

My week was awesome. I had lots of fun. I get to go to the lake house this weekend! From your Thursday to your Sunday. We are going to Lake Taupo. My grandma and grandad own a lake house!!! I went there last year when it was summer, but your winter. At the lake, is a whole bunch of pumice. Pumice is from a volcano that erupted and made the lake. And the ashes from the volcano formed as sand. We'll go swimming in the hot springs. What is the hot spring you ask? I don't really know... My mom says it's a volcano... geothermal activity. Photos next week! Bye!!
